Overview

Alexandra is an Associate in the Corporate Investigations Department of our Sandton office and a member of the Litigation Practice.  She has experience in arbitration, motion, and trial work and provides assistance to clients in a variety of commercial disputes including contractual disputes, realisation of security, and delictual claims.

Experience

  • Assisting in the defense by a client in an international arbitration in which a telecommunications provider has claimed ZAR375 million arising from alleged breaches of a sale of shares agreement.
  • Assisting with an appeal to the Constitutional Court, in which damages were sought by a client against a defendant company responsible for the installation of certain software, in which the defendant succeeded in appealing to the Supreme Court of Appeal.
  • Assisting with the recovery of monies owing to a client arising from a breach of contract by seeking to enforce a guarantee and a foreign judgment in favour of the client in excess of USD 20 million.
  • Assisting with the recovery of damages incurred by a client following several power outages arising from the burning down of a government-maintained electrical substation.
  • Assisting with the conduct of a Pro Bono matter in which an NGO is assisting various clients who have had their identity documents blocked / marked by the Department of Home Affairs.

  • LLB (magna cum laude), University of Cape Town.
